Stablecoin Transfers: Small Payments Dominate Volume, Large Deals Drive Value
A Mercuryo and BNB Chain report finds 77% of stablecoin transfers fall under $100, yet large transactions still control two-thirds of total value moved.
Small-dollar stablecoin transactions overwhelmingly outnumber large ones, but the bulk of economic value flowing through these digital assets still comes from high-value transfers, according to a joint report released by global payments infrastructure platform Mercuryo and BNB Chain, the community-driven blockchain ecosystem.
The report found that transfers under $100 account for 77% of all stablecoin transaction activity, a figure that underscores growing adoption of stablecoins for everyday use cases such as low-value remittances and routine payments. Despite that numerical dominance by small transfers, transactions of a larger scale still move approximately two-thirds of the total value settled across these networks.

The findings illustrate a dual-use dynamic that has emerged within the stablecoin ecosystem: a high-frequency layer of retail and micro-payment activity coexisting alongside a lower-frequency but capital-intensive layer dominated by institutional or large-scale transfers. This bifurcation suggests that stablecoins have achieved meaningful utility at multiple tiers of the financial system simultaneously.
Mercuryo and BNB Chain framed the data as evidence of stablecoins' versatility, capable of serving both individuals sending modest sums across borders and larger entities moving significant capital. The report highlights the infrastructure demands that come with supporting such a wide range of transaction sizes on a single network.
The joint publication reflects broader industry interest in quantifying real-world stablecoin usage patterns as regulators and financial institutions worldwide continue to scrutinize the role digital assets play in global payments. Continue reading at All Financial Services & Investing.
