Aditya Birla Sun Life Launches Two Retail Funds From GIFT City
Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC has set up an IFSC subsidiary in GIFT City, Gujarat, introducing two new retail funds of funds.
Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd. has established a wholly owned subsidiary, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC International (IFSC) Limited, at the International Financial Services Centre in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, commonly known as GIFT City, the company announced in October 2026.
The new entity will offer two retail funds of funds, marking the asset management company's formal entry into India's offshore financial hub. GIFT City operates as a special economic zone designed to bring international financial activity onto Indian soil, and regulators have increasingly encouraged asset managers to launch products from the jurisdiction.

The move reflects a broader push by Indian fund houses to expand their international product offerings and capture investor interest in globally structured investment vehicles. By routing products through GIFT City's IFSC framework, the company can offer structures that carry regulatory treatment distinct from domestically domiciled mutual funds.
For retail investors, funds of funds launched from an IFSC platform can provide exposure to underlying global or domestic strategies under a single wrapper, potentially simplifying cross-border investment. The specific underlying strategies and target asset classes for the two new offerings were not detailed in the announcement.
Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC is one of India's largest asset managers, and the IFSC subsidiary represents a strategic expansion of its product shelf at a time when GIFT City is gaining traction as a regional financial hub. Continue reading at All Financial Services & Investing.
