ASUR Reports Mixed Q3 Results as Passenger Traffic Slips 1.2%
Airport operator ASUR posted a 1.2% year-over-year decline in total passenger traffic in Q3, with weakness in Mexico and Puerto Rico offsetting Latin American gains.
Airport group ASUR reported a 1.2% year-over-year decline in total passenger traffic for its third fiscal quarter of 2026, as softness in two of its core markets weighed on overall performance across its multinational network.
Mexico, ASUR's primary market, saw passenger volumes fall 4.6% compared with the same period a year earlier, while Puerto Rico posted a 3.2% decline. Those drops were partially countered by stronger demand elsewhere in the company's portfolio, with Colombia recording a 5.2% increase and Brazil and other markets collectively growing 1.4%.

The quarter's results also captured one full month of operations stemming from ASUR's acquisition of CPC Aeroportos, which manages a portfolio of 20 airports. The contrasting regional trends highlight the uneven recovery and demand dynamics playing out across Latin American aviation. While Colombia and Brazil demonstrate resilience, Mexico's steeper decline raises questions about near-term demand drivers including tourism flows, economic conditions, and competitive capacity in key corridors.
